(Washington, DC) – Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is warning of a potential showdown in Congress, saying she has the votes to halt House business if the Senate does not act on the SAVE Act.
In a post on X, Luna said that if the Senate fails to either pass the SAVE Act or schedule a vote before lawmakers return, she is prepared to move forward with blocking the House floor. She accused members of both parties of stalling on election integrity while prioritizing legislation they believe will help their reelection prospects.
“We are not going to play games,” Luna wrote, arguing that many Republicans want the House floor open only to advance messaging bills for campaign purposes. She added that lawmakers should not be allowed to “hide behind the president and his agenda” while failing to deliver what she called meaningful reforms.
Luna framed the SAVE Act as a non-negotiable priority, calling election integrity “the most important issue in this country for the future of our nation.” Her comments signal growing frustration among House conservatives and raise the prospect of procedural gridlock if Senate action does not follow.
