A retired U.S. Air Force brigadier general suggested that military action involving Iran could be imminent during a radio appearance Friday afternoon, making a series of striking comments that quickly drew attention.

Speaking on Cats & Cosby, Blaine D. Holt said forces could be positioned “within hours” and repeatedly emphasized the possibility of near-term developments. “It could be tonight,” Holt said. “It could absolutely be tonight,” adding that he envisioned forces moving into “firing positions” on a rapid timeline.

Holt framed the potential action as a way to influence internal dynamics in Iran, saying the goal would be to “put our thumb on the scale to help the Iranian people out” and to “enable them to take matters into their own hands.” He did not cite specific intelligence or operational details to support the claims.

The retired general also referenced coordination with Israel, suggesting Israeli involvement alongside U.S. forces. “I know they want to play a role, and I’m certain that they will play one,” Holt said, adding, “I can see Israeli jets right there alongside us.”

Holt is no longer in military service and does not speak for the Department of Defense or the U.S. government. U.S. officials have not confirmed any imminent military action, and no official announcements were made Friday regarding troop movements or joint operations.
