(Washington, DC) – Rep. Eli Crane ignited a political firestorm after responding directly to a post from Hillary Clinton declaring that “no one is above the law.”

“Thanks for clarifying,” Crane wrote on X. “That’s why we voted to hold you in contempt of Congress yesterday for defying congressional subpoenas on the Epstein probe.”
The exchange centers on congressional investigations tied to Jeffrey Epstein, where Republican lawmakers have accused Clinton of failing to comply with subpoenas connected to the probe. Clinton’s original post did not reference Epstein directly, but Crane’s reply framed it as a pointed contradiction.
The post immediately drew intense reaction online, with conservatives praising Crane’s response as accountability and critics calling it political theater. The dispute highlights how the Epstein investigations continue to fuel partisan clashes years after Epstein’s death, particularly around questions of transparency and compliance with congressional oversight.
Neither Clinton nor her representatives publicly responded further to Crane’s claim as the exchange spread across social media — adding fresh gasoline to one of Washington’s most combustible controversies.
