(New York, NY) — New York Giants fans were overjoyed this week when the team announced they had signed former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh to a lucrative five year deal with Big Blue. Harbaugh had led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory and a slew of winning seasons over 18 years. Long suffering Giants fans believe Harbaugh is the key to turning the franchise from long time losers into winners again. It seems President Trump agrees.

President Trump took to Truth Social in the days before Harbaugh singed the dotted line to encourage the owners of the Giants to get the deal down. “HIRE JOHN HARBAUGH, FAST,” Trump wrote on the post. “HE, AND HIS BROTHER, ARE TOTAL WINNERS!!!”
The President has a relationship with the Harbaugh brothers that went public when John and his brother Jim, also a successful NFL coach visited with Trump in the oval office back in July. It was the President who asked to meet with the brothers and their extended families on July 11th. The White House and the Harbaughs said little about the meeting. There were no details released about the topics discussed.

When reporters learned of the sit down they pounced on Coach Harbaugh for details. Harbaugh did not hold back, even knowing that the fan base in Baltimore likely leans Democratic. He described the experience as “amazing” and said he “roots for our president”, emphasizing gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to bring his family. He told reporters that they should not seize on the politics of meeting a President , but rather that he saw it as an opportunity to go to the White House. But Trump supporters are not so sure the buy that. They believe Harbaugh is MAGA all the way, but is waiting till his days in the spotlight are over to let it be known.

Harbaugh was introduced as the new head coach of the Giants on Tuesday, signing a five-year, $100 million contract. The 63-year-old, who was fired by the Baltimore Ravens says he welcomes the challenge of rebuilding the Giants back into a championship contender. Harbaugh says the Giants’ head coaching job was the one he wanted most, because he wanted to play on the “biggest stage” with promising young quarterback, Jaxson Dart. He has a lot of work to do. The Giants ended the 2025 season 4 and 13.
