(New York, New York) – A Danish member of the European Parliament went viral after unleashing a blunt, profanity-laced rebuke at President Donald Trump over his renewed push to bring Greenland under U.S. control.
Speaking during a European Parliament debate, Danish MEP Anders Vistisen rejected Trump’s claim that Greenland is vital to U.S. national security and should fall under American control.
“Let me put this in words you might understand,” Vistisen said. “Mr. President, f— off.”
Trump has recently doubled down on his long-standing interest in Greenland, citing strategic concerns tied to Russia and China and floating economic pressure on European allies who oppose the move. Denmark and Greenland’s leaders have repeatedly responded that the island is not for sale.
The outburst follows Trump’s viral AI-generated posts depicting Greenland as U.S. territory, which have already rattled European capitals and forced emergency discussions on sovereignty and security.
