(Washington, DC) – Gas prices across the United States have dropped to their lowest level in five years, delivering major savings for American drivers- a development highlighted this week during a White House press conference.

Speaking to reporters, Karoline Leavitt pointed to falling fuel costs as a key example of Americans seeing real financial relief. She cited new figures showing the national average price for regular gas has plunged well below recent highs, easing pressure on working families.

According to GasBuddy, regular gas is now below $3 per gallon in 43 states, with prices dipping under $2 per gallon at stations in at least 19 states, a scenario described as “unheard of just a couple of short years ago.”

The savings are substantial. Drivers are projected to spend $11 billion less at the gas pump this year compared to last year, resulting in hundreds of dollars in savings for the average American family. Leavitt emphasized that the drop in fuel prices is putting “real money back into Americans’ pockets,” calling it a tangible benefit felt nationwide.

With gas prices continuing to trend downward, the administration is spotlighting fuel costs as one of the most immediate ways Americans are seeing economic relief in their daily lives.
