(Brooklyn, New York) – An 85-year-old woman was stabbed to death inside her Brooklyn apartment building Tuesday night, police said.
Officers with the New York City Police Department responded just before 10 p.m. to a four-story residential building on Throop Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, a short distance from the Kingston–Throop Avenues subway station. Inside the building, police found resident Julia Boomer suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Boomer was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where she later died from her injuries, authorities said.
As of Wednesday, The NYPD has a person of interest in custody.
