(New York, New York) – A legal defense fundraiser for Jonathan Ross, the Jonathan Ross who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good during a controversial Minneapolis incident on Jan. 7, 2026, has surpassed $450,000 and continues to grow. The GoFundMe campaign, organized by a private supporter, is intended to help cover Ross’s potential legal costs as public debate over the shooting intensifies.

Supporters have flooded the page with donations and encouraging messages. One contributor from Texas wrote, “You put a target on your back when you put that badge on your chest… Don’t let the radical few over wash over the support of the majority! God bless you sir.” Another donor added, “Thank you for your amazing service… I wish you and your family some peace, serenity and that you get home every day safely!”

Others offered spiritual encouragement, with one saying, “During these trying times, know I stand by you and your family. God grant you his grace, strength and shield you.” Another wrote, “You were forced into an impossible situation and acted to save your own life. I am grateful that you survived. We stand firmly behind our officers.” A contributor with fewer means said simply, “I don’t have much money to give but want to express my heartfelt support and gratitude to ICE and law enforcement dealing daily with unhinged lunatics.”

The fundraiser- one of several efforts that have emerged to back the officer, reflects deep divides in public response to the shooting. While many on the left and in the media have condemned the incident and rallied around Good’s family, whose own fundraiser raised more than $1.5 million, others view Ross as a law-enforcement professional who acted under stress in a dangerous encounter.

As investigations continue at both local and federal levels, the defense fund underscores how polarized reactions to the case have become, with supporters framing their contributions as a stand for officers’ rights and legal fairness amid intense scrutiny of law enforcement.
