(New York, New York) – A viral street interview involving Laura Ingraham is fueling new questions about whether some protesters are being paid to demonstrate. Ingraham was speaking with protesters during a tense confrontation outside a federal building when she asked one woman if she had a job.

The protester responded bluntly, saying, “I’m getting paid right now,” a remark that immediately drew attention online. The exchange, captured on video and shared widely on social media, prompted speculation that the woman may have been admitting to being a paid protester rather than a volunteer participant.

While the comment has been seized on by critics as possible evidence of compensated activism, no independent confirmation has been provided showing who, if anyone, was paying protesters at the event. Still, the moment has added fuel to ongoing conservative criticism that some demonstrations are being organized and financially backed rather than driven purely by grassroots support.
