(Washington, DC) – Vice President JD Vance sharply criticized national media outlets over their reporting on the fatal ICE-involved shooting in Minneapolis, calling the coverage “an absolute disgrace” and warning that it is endangering law enforcement officers.
Speaking amid ongoing protests and political fallout following the incident, Vance said the way the story has been framed has distorted the facts and fueled hostility toward federal agents operating in the city.
“The way that the media has reported this story has been an absolute disgrace, and it puts our law enforcement officers at risk every single day,” Vance said.
The Vice President argued that selective reporting and inflammatory headlines have contributed to public confusion and escalating tensions, particularly as federal officials maintain the shooting occurred during a lawful enforcement operation and was an act of self-defense.
