(Los Angeles, CA) — Nick Reiner has reportedly been taken off suicide watch ahead of his scheduled arraignment on murder charges. According to law enforcement sources cited by TMZ, Reiner is no longer required to wear a suicide-prevention smock while being held at a downtown Los Angeles jail. The report notes that removing the smock is standard procedure when an inmate has not made a suicide attempt for at least two weeks.
Reiner is expected to appear in court on January 7th for his arraignment. He is accused of fatally stabbing his father, filmmaker Rob Reiner, and his mother, photographer Michele Singer Reiner, at their Brentwood home on December 14, 2025. People Magazine also reports that while Reiner has been removed from suicide watch, he will remain in High Observation Housing under a judge’s order.
