(New York, NY) – It was a big year for the weed dispensaries here in New York. Across the state, the cannabis market raked in more than $1.5 billion in sales for 2025. Options of where to shop have also grown as well. The number of licensed shops doubled from 261 in 2024 to 556 this past year.
These numbers are coming straight from the state’s Office of Cannabis Management’s annual report. This follows some issues with the regulatory office after they made a mistake last year in the rules regarding the amount of distance required between different dispensaries. Susan Filburn, acting executive director for the office said they continue working to expand access and strengthen regulations.
