(New York, NY) — There will be multiple times to watch the big glittery ball drop in New York City’s Times Square in 2026 – two on New Year’s Day, and once later in the year,
The first ball drop is, of course, at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day. Then, a second New Year’s Eve ball drop is scheduled in Times Square at 12:04 a.m. after the first ball drop and the playing of “Auld Lang Syne.” The 12-thousand pound crystal ball will rise again, lit in red, white and blue, followed by a patriotic confetti drop to mark the founding of America in 1776. It’s a preview of what’s to come for the America250 celebration.
Plus there’ll be a third Times Square ball drop on July 3rd, the first time in 120 years that a lit sphere will make a dramatic entrance at the Crossroads of the World at a time other than New Year’s Eve. THAT’S to mark the 250th “birthday” of the United States.
