Hanukkah reception at the White House in Washington, D.C.
(Washington, DC) — President Trump tapped Sid Rosenberg for surprise remarks at the White House Hanukkah celebration Tuesday night. The president scanned the room while smiling and pointed Sid out, before inviting the host of “Sid and Friends in the Morning” to come up to the podium and say a few words. The moment drew laughter and applause, as Trump praised Sid’s success. Trump said “Sid’s got the number one radio show in New York! Like by far….ABC.” Sid, clearly moved by the moment, responded by saying to the President “I love him” and “This is the greatest moment of my life.” Trump also teased that Sid almost cried and “he hasn’t cried since he was a baby.”

The personal tone of the evening was a blend of politics, faith and friendship under the glow of the menorah at the White House. Trump also sent love and prayers to the people of Australia and all those affected by the horrific and antisemitic attack that took place at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney. He added, “all nations must stand together against the evil forces of radical Islamic terrorism.”
