(New York, NY) – Rachel Maddow is sharing some of her regrets. Maddow interviewed former Vice President Kamala Harris one-on-one back in September following the release of Harris’s memoir from the election, “107 Days”. Now, Maddow sat down with the former head of the Democratic National Committee, Jaime Harrison, on his “At Our Table” podcast as former Democrats continue dissecting where the party went wrong in 2024 in preparation for the 2026 midterms.

Maddow said in the September interview Harris was being very calculated on camera. Maddow wishes she pressed Harris more on the selection of her own running mate. In her book, Harris wrote that former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was under consideration, however his identity as a gay man was a risk too big to take according to Harris. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was also a potential pick, however Harris claims in her book that Shapiro was looking for more pull in the White House than previous VP’s. Harris ended up selecting Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and lost every swing state and the popular vote.
