The NYPD’s Pickpocket Unit is on high alert this holiday season. Police are on the ground looking for thieves who bump and shove to try to grab whatever you’ve got. So, Pickpocket Unit cops are on patrol citywide, weaving through crowds and keeping an eye on shoppers and sightseers.
Cops say street thieves are typically after cell phones, wallets, credit cards and cash. Their advice is to stay alert, try to avoid crowds, and keep your valuables secured so you don’t become a victim.
