(New York, NY)  —  As the saying goes, there are no true friends in politics. But according to Sid Rosenberg, host of “Sid and Friends in the Morning” here on 77WABC Radio, that’s hogwash. He likes both Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. The problem is, they’ve both tossed their hats into the ring to become the next governor of New York.

Sid says Blakeman is a really good friend and he’s very close to Stefanik as well. Rosenberg says he’s “in a tough pickle” because of his friendships with both. He adds, “My gut tells me that Elise and Bruce will be a lot more mature than Curtis Sliwa,” who stopped talking to Sid for telling him to drop out of the New York City mayoral race.  Rosenberg says Blakeman and Stefanik won’t hold it against him, if in fact he’s got to pick one for New York governor.

Sid knows a lot of folks “don’t have the stomach for a tough primary between two well-respected and beloved Americans” and adds, “We don’t want to see it, right?”

So stay tuned.  The primary is set for June 2026.
