(Hempstead, NY)  —  A teenager is being charged in the fatal shooting of another teen on Long Island.  Police say 18-year-old Jacob McMillan of Baldwin was charged with second-degree murder and other counts for allegedly shooting 19-year-old Amira McCleod at a house party on November 22nd.  The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. at a home near Willow and Kennedy avenues.  Authorities say McCleod, a Monroe University basketball player, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

About two dozen people attended the house party, which was advertised on social media.  Prosecutors say McMillan was captured on surveillance video traveling from the Long Island Railroad stop in Baldwin, on a NICE bus and walking to the house party.  A ring camera from a nearby home captured McMillan being patted down at the front of the house party. McMillan appeared to refuse the search and pulled out a gun.  Officials say he fired twice, with one bullet hitting the arm of the man trying to pat him down and the other bullet hit another man. McMillan then fled the scene.
