(Moscow) – After a brutal overnight assault was launched against Kiev in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he sees “no point in many any serious compromises” concerning a potential end to hostilities. In recent weeks, US officials have been trying to broken a multi-point peace plan between the two countries. In February of next year the war will have been ongoing for three years.
According to Russian state media, Putin remains “absolutely confident on the battlefield,” and unwilling to make any concessions. Early Wednesday, talks between Putin and President Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff ended in a stalemate. Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner was also a part of those talks. The Kremlin stated it plainly: “compromises have not yet been found.” Or as spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said: “A direct exchange of views took place yesterday for the first time.”

Going further, Peskov said: “Some things were accepted, some things were marked as unacceptable – this is a normal working process of finding a compromise.” He added that Russian officials remain willing and able to meet with US negotiatiors in hopes of reaching an agreement.
And sadly — hours after the most recent version of a potential agreement was rejected — a new, massive drone strike was launched against Ukraine. Russian drones struck Ternivka in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region — killing two people and injuring three. Overall, Russia fired 111 strike and decoy drones at Ukraine overnight, according to Ukraine’s air force.
