(New York, NY) — A pretrial hearing is set for next Monday in New York state’s case against accused killer Luigi Mangione.
The 27-year-old Baltimore man is charged with gunning down United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown Manhattan last December and is pleading not guilty.
Defense lawyers have filed a motion asking for Mangione, who’ll be allowed to wear civilian clothing, to be unshackled in court. They’ll also argue that a notebook found in his backpack should be suppressed, claiming Pennsylvaniapolice searched Mangione’s backpack without reading him his rights.
