(New York, NY) — Authorities are releasing details on what led up to the shooting of a New York Jets player outside a Midtown, Manhattan nightclub. Kris Boyd was out on the town with Gang Green linebacker Jamien Sherwood, wide receiver Irvin Charles and a pal from Texas at the Asian Fusion restaurant Sei Less.
NYPD officials say the group of NFL pros were being teased over their stylish clothing at the entrance to the club Sunday morning. The Jets players said something back and it escalated into a huge brawl with Boyd getting shot in the chest.
The 29-year old has undergone multiple procedures to have a bullet removed from his right lung. As of November 20th, Boyd is capable of breathing on his own.
Meanwhile, a tip identified a possible shooter and a $185,000 watch found at the scene may offer a clue.
