(Washington, DC) — President Trump says he had a “great meeting” with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani at the White House.
It was all smiles as the two spoke to reporters from the Oval Office, with Trump saying he feels very confident that Mamdani will do a effective job. He added that the better Mamdani does, the happier he is because he loves New York. President Trump also said he feels better about crime in New York after meeting with Mamdani.
Both men brushed off questions about trading insults when Mamdani was running for office. When asked about Mamdani being critical of ICE, Trump would only say both he and the mayor elect want a safer New York City.
