Bronx Mom Charged in Abandoned Baby Case

(New York, NY) – An infant was found hidden in a garbage bag in the Bronx and now the mother is facing charges. Claudette Tinnin, 28, is being charged with reckless endangerment, acting in a manner injurious to a child and abandonment of a child according to police. The baby was found with his umbilical cord still attached, swaddled in a blanket in front of an apartment in Olinville. A 71 year old woman who lives in the building found the baby and called 911. Cops rushed the baby, who was conscious and alert, to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Tinnin was hospitalized on Thursday, waiting to be arraigned.
