(Hartford, CT) — Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont is launching his re-election campaign for a third term.
Lamont says as governor he’s turned the state around by restoring fiscal stability, lowering taxes and strengthening education. The Democrat says he wants to lower health care costs, build more housing and reduce energy costs in an effort to make Connecticut more affordable.
Sen. Ryan Fazio of Greenwich and former New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart, the two Republicans competing for the GOP nomination, are expected to seek public financing. He also faces a long-shot challenger for the Democratic nomination, Rep. Josh Elliott of Hamden.
