(East Rutherford, NJ) – It’s the end of an error in New Jersey. The New York Football Giants have fired head coach Brian Daboll, after yet another inexcusable loss — this time to the Chicago Bears. Mathematicians have laid it out — the odds of losing games in which the Giants lead against the Cowboys, Saints, Broncos, and Bears were nearly impossible — and it proved to be Daboll’s undoing Monday.
After the Giants loss to Denver — in which the team blew a lead in the closing minutes — reports swirled that team owner John Mara wanted to fire Daboll then. But reportedly cooler heads prevailed at that time, and the coach’s job was spared. Yet another loss of that same variety was too much and Daboll was sent packing. Multiple outlets have suggested offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will be the interim head coach.
