Veteran’s Day ~ Thank You!

intrepid-museum

(New York, NY) —  Thank you to our veterans for your service.  A Veterans Day tribute is being held Tuesday, November 11th, at the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum on Manhattan’s West Side.

Organizers say the 3:30 p.m. wreath-laying ceremony in the Hudson River will honor the sacrifices made by brave men and women who’ve served in the armed forces. Veterans will be attending the annual event with New York City’s Veterans’ Services Commissioner, James Hendon, delivering remarks.

The event is open to all Intrepid Museum ticket holders and will also be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

New York City’s Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday commemorates 250 years of military service. This year’s parade will honor those who fought for our country dating all the way back to the Revolutionary War. It’ll feature 280 marching units, 20-thousand marchers, 25 floats and vintage vehicles.

Every branch of the military will be represented, plus youth cadets. The parade begins at 12:30 pm on Fifth Avenue between 25th and 45th Streets. The annual wreath-laying ceremony preceding the march is at 10:55 a.m. in Madison Square Park.
