(Windsor, England) — Soccer legend David Beckham has been honored with a knighthood ceremony.
The 50-year-old former England captain received knighthood at Windsor Castle on Tuesday for his services to sports and charity after he was named on King Charles’ Birthday Honors list earlier this year.
Beckham represented England 115 times and was captain for 59 games which is an accomplishment only two other players have surpassed. Sir David Beckham marked the occasion alongside his wife Victoria, (a former “Spice Girl”) who received the second highest-ranking award in the Order of the British Empire in 2017, as well as his parents.
