(New York, NY) – Two planes made contact as the travel nightmares amid the ongoing government shutdown continue. A United Airlines plane that was just getting back from Florida was turning into its arrival gate when it clipped the tail of another United jet. It happened Friday night. The plane that got hit was not moving at the time, and was waiting to be taxied for its flight to Houston.
Maintenance crews were taking a look at the clipped plane for any malfunctions. Luckily there were no injuries reported. On board the two planes were 328 passengers and 15 crew members. Ground delays were averaging two hours Friday night due to high winds. Passengers on the plane that was hit say they thought the bump they felt was from the winds and were unaware of the collision until the pilot told them about the incident.
