(East Greenbush, NY) — This year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is coming from just outside of Albany, New York.

A 75-foot tall Norway Spruce in the town of East Greenbush has been selected. It will be cut down on Thursday of next week (November 6th) and transported to Rockefeller Center two days later.  The tree will be wrapped with more than 50-thousand multi-colored LED lights and crowned with a Swarovski star. Donated by the Russ family, the tree has been part of their property for over 60 years, serving as the backdrop for countless celebrations.

The annual Rockefeller Center Tree lighting ceremony is set for Wednesday, December 3rd and will be hosted by country music icon and actress Reba McIntyre.
