(New York, NY) — It’s official. Former New York Governor David Paterson will be endorsing former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to be the next mayor of New York City. WABC radio owner and operator John Catsimatidis made the announcement live on “Sid and Friends in the Morning.” Catsimatidis said, “I tell all my democratic friends the real Democrat in this is Andrew Cuomo. Mamdani is a socialist.” He added, “I am for America. God is going to save New York City” but people need to vote.
Paterson and Catsimatidis are holding a holding a news conference on Manhattan’s Upper East Side outside Robert Wagner Middle School to provide an update on record-breaking early voting turnout across New York City. Five times as many residents cast their ballots compared to prior elections, making it one of the busiest early voting periods in city history.
During the summer, Governor Paterson and other civic leaders called on candidates polling low in the race for mayor to step aside and unite around a positive message of participation and leadership. However, mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa says he is not dropping out.
Catsimatidis said, “Go out and vote! We are fighting for all the tea, not in China, but in the Hudson River.”
Early voting is underway and Election Day is Tuesday November 4th.
