(New York, NY) – If you are a registered New York or New Jersey voter, you can now cast your ballots. In the Big Apple, all eyes are on the mayoral race as the attacks against opponents ramp up. Front runner in the race, Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani, held a press conference ahead of the weekend in front of a Mosque in the Bronx. Mamdani claimed he was the victim of Islamophobia and was being unfairly targeted because he is Muslim. Mamdani also held a weekend event with progressive big wigs, Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Cuomo just got an endorsement this week from sitting Mayor Eric Adams, who announced he was no longer seeking re-election at the beginning of the month. Republican and Independent candidate Curtis Sliwa holds strong that he has no plans on dropping out of the race.

Meanwhile, in the Garden State, the governor’s race is much more contentious than the city mayor’s race in recent polling. Republican Jack Ciatarelli has closed in on the lead of Democratic Congressmember Mikie Sherrill. Ciatarelli has been endorsed by several Democratic mayors across the state who say they want to see a major change in Trenton. Sherrill, on the other hand, just got a nod from former President Barack Obama. Early voting in both New Jersey and New York began Saturday October 25th and runs until November 2nd. Election day is November 4th.
