(New York, NY) – In late September, allegations emerged — based on the account of anonymous sources — that border czar Tom Homan had accepted $50,000 in cash from undercover FBI agents. The claim was that this was a bribe, in order to have Homan direct government contracts toward certain interests — once the Trump Administration 2.0 had begun. Homan has since denied this and noted he’s far from enriching himself while working for the federal government — and has in fact “taken a pay cut” to do so.

Homan has worked in law enforcement since 1984. He’s worked for Democratic presidents, such as Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. He’s also worked for members of the GOP, including Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump. Homan notes he did previously run a consulting service, form which he recused himself at the start of Trump’s second term.

But since Homan is now engaging in such a widespread and high-profile crackdown on illegal immigration, he’s become a noted target of the left. Anonymous sources claiming he took a bag of cash would suffice. And Homan denied the claims in a pointed fashion, taking part in a News Nation townhall, alongside 77 WABC’s Bill O’Reilly. Homan was responding to Vice President J.D. Vance coming to his defense, during an interview with ABC News.

On Sunday’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” Vance was cut off when offering that defense. Stephanopoulos brought up the allegations, and Vance called them a “left wing rabbit hole” that distracts from real issues people care about. That’s when Stephanopoulos abruptly ended the interview.

This continues a string of nakedly partisan and arguably irresponsible behavior while on air from Stephanopoulos — who falsely accused Trump of being convicted of rape — resulting in a $15 million payout to Trump. It remains to be seen what will come of this latest politicking from Stephanopoulos — who served as President Clinton’s communications director. He has routinely defended Democrats and attacked Republicans while hosting his show, which is seemingly designed to be non-partisan news coverage.

President Trump took issue with Stephanopoulos and the interview with Vance, skipping ABC News at a press conference this week.
