Zohran Speaks to Fox News

(New York, NY) — New York City Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani apologized to the NYPD Wednesday for his past comments disparaging the police force. The self-described Democratic Socialist has been working to distance himself from past comments made in 2020 where he described the NYPD as “racist, anti-queer, and a major threat to public safety.”  His comments marked the most public attempt at repairing his relationship with the department.

Zohran Mamdani also said it’s too early to give President Trump credit for the Israeli-Hamas ceasefire, saying he wants to see lasting peace before any credit is given. Mamdani again said if elected, he would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he came to New York, based on a war crimes warrant from the International Criminal Court.

Mamdani reiterated his number one issue if elected is making New York City affordable for working-class people.

Mamdani, Independent Andrew Cuomo, and Republican Curtis Sliwa will debate Thursday night at 7 p.m. eastern. Recent polls show Mamdani way ahead of Cuomo and Sliwa, but Cuomo has been gaining more support since Mayor Adams dropped out of the race. Early voting begins in New York Saturday October 25th and ends the Sunday, November 2nd before Election Day.
