You Won’t Believe What Kimmel Said About Trump

(Los Angeles, CA) – It’s probably the worst-kept-secret in Hollywood and politics, combined. President Donald Trump and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel don’t like each other. In fact, that might not word it strongly enough. They despise each other. At least publicly.

But Kimmel recently said he’s not closed off to the idea of having Trump as a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” once again. The last time that happened was in 2016, prior to Trump’s first time in the Oval Office. And recently Kimmel was suspended by ABC/Disney for making crass and inaccurate remarks about Charlie Kirk’s murder. After that happened, Trump expressed his support for the suspension — and added he expected the outright cancellation of the comedian’s show.

Given that cancellation didn’t happen, Trump could theoretically still be a guest. At this week’s Bloomberg Screentime event — at the NYA Studios in LA — Kimmel made the surprising suggestion that he’d “love to have Trump on the show, for sure. Yeah…I’ll ask him,” he said to event host Lucas Shaw.

Still, the White House was quick to toss cold water on that one. Rep Abigail Jackson told the New York Post’s Page Six: “Reacting to anything Jimmy Kimmel says would require me to watch his show and I have much more entertaining things to do, like watch paint dry.”

So, don’t exactly feel the need to set your DVR right now. Still, it’s fair to say that hypothetical interview would “break the internet” and do big numbers in terms of TV ratings.
