(Washington, DC) – Following a meeting of military brass at Quantico, in Virginia — President Trump said the US is reawakening its “warrior spirit”. The meeting had brought together generals and flag officers that had been deployed to spots around the world. Originally, Trump had described the meeting as “celebratory.”
President Trump vows the military will become stronger and faster in the years to come. Prior to his remarks, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth spoke. And Hegseth also wrote a letter to military leaders, railing against DEI and politics that have infiltrated the ranks. The secretary noted he hoped the convey a message: “we must do better.”
This is all part of an effort from the Trump White House to reverse so-called “woke” tendencies within the US military, such as a ban on transgender servicemembers. The cutting out of DEI or less-than-merit-based hires and promotions is in the same vein.
