(Dallas, TX)  —  A sniper opened fire on an ICE facility in Dallas this morning killing at least two detainees and critically wounding a third. The shooter is being identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn who was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound atop a nearby apartment building.  A spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security said the shooter “fired indiscriminately at the ICE building.”  No ICE agents were injured in the shooting.

The FBI said the shooting is being investigated “as an act of targeted violence.”  FBI Director Kash Patel posted a picture on X of shell casings recovered at the scene engraved with the phrase “ANTI ICE.”

Thirty-eight-year-old Denise Robleto told the New York Times she was in a van in the parking lot, waiting for her mother to come back from a check-in with Immigration and Customs Enforcement on her asylum case, when the shooting started.  She said “It was one shot after another after another after another.”  Ms. Robleto was not injured.

The incident comes as ICE has been ramping up deportation efforts throughout the country.  In addition, officials with Homeland Security have been saying there’s been increased violence and threats against their agents and officers.
