NY: 24th Anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks at Ground Zero
(New York, NY) — There is a new poll out today and it shows Democratic Socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani holding onto a commanding lead in the race for mayor. In the Marist survey of voters , the 33-year-old is in first place at 45%. Andrew Cuomo comes in second place in the poll at 24%. Republican Curtis Sliwa is in third at 17% and Mayor Adams comes in last place at 9%. The survey comes less than 24 hours after Governor Hochul endorsed Mamdani in his bid for mayor.
Meanwhile, Mayor Adams appears to be ramping up his re-election campaign and showing no signs of quitting despite being way down in the polls. Today, he criticized the media saying reporters are undermining his campaign, while referring to reports he may be dropping out and that the Trump administration is thinking about offering Adams a job. Adams says there’s a long way to go in the race with his campaign team just starting to knock on doors.
