(Bethpage, NY) — The Ryder Cup is teeing up on Long Island next week. Police are preparing for one of the biggest golf events in the world at Bethpage Black. New York State Trooper Major Stephen Udice told NBC News New York that authorities are planning ahead of the event. He says anyone who doesn’t belong in the area, should stay away. Udice adds that intelligence units are scrubbing social media non-stop, looking for potential outliers that might be looking to cause chaos. In addition, he says “there will be a lot of plainclothes officers to help identify any problems or problem people or areas”
President Trump said he will be attending the Ryder Cup, which will make security even more challenging. Bags will also be screened, with no bags larger than ten-by-ten-inches allowed.
