(New York, NY) – Dating back to President Trump’s first term in office, questions have arisen as to potential bias among elements of the FBI. Most often, the claim is that elements of upper management at the bureau are biased against Trump — and other conservatives. But a new report suggests rank-and-file agents may have also exhibited bias — and potentially obstructed criminal or congressional investigations.
These cases include a veritable “who’s who” of the political world, such as Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and President Donald Trump.
John Solomon of Just The News says the FBI has launched an internal probe looking into potential obstruction of justice — by agents — during high profile investigations. The files being looked at span almost a decade, and they allegedly include evidence of wrongdoing or misconduct. Agents may have obstructed justice during the case investigating so-called Russian collusion, as well as alleged corruption within the Clinton and Biden families. The events of January 6, 2021 are also being looked at.
Solomon reports that FBI Director Kash Patel’s team has uncovered documents that show agents expressed concerns about the actions of colleagues and supervisors. And — he says that a federal grand jury is looking at evidence — with potential findings being disclosed to Congress sometime this month.
In June of this year, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley reportedly urged the FBI to look at the “prohibited access” system — which may be at the core of obstruction claims. Grassley wrote at the time: “The impact of parking records in a way that impedes… responsive records from being produced to Congress… is wide-ranging and potentially catastrophic to constitutional requirements.”
With the inquiry ongoing, it’s possible broader findings are made public in the coming weeks.
