(New York, NY) – He’s not leaving! That was the announcement made by Mayor Eric Adams late Friday, amid speculation he might drop out of the race. Adams spoke outside Gracie Mansion and argued he’s the only candidate who can beat Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani — who won the Democratic party’s nomination earlier this year.

Adams singled out former Governor Andrew Cuomo — now a fellow candidate for mayor — calling him a “snake” and intimating Cuomo is to blame for the recent rumors. Reports have swirled that Adams is in talks with the Trump White House to potentially accept a job, and then bow out.

The word is President Trump would like to see that happen in order to consolidate the candidates in the race, and boost the chances of stopping Mamdani from winning. Reports have also suggested Republican-Independent candidate Curtis Sliwa may be offered a job in the Trump Administration. But Sliwa has adamantly denied he’d accept such a job — or drop out — saying the only way he’d leave the race for mayor was if he was “hit by a Mack truck.”
