(Washington, DC) — Dozens of Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse victims gathered in Washington, D.C. to call on Congress to take action on the case. It comes as the first batch of documents related to the late sex offender have been released.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee gave the okay for the 33-thousand pages of information to go public. The documents include video from the area outside Epstein’s jail cell in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City before he committed suicide in 2019. Survivor Anouska De Georgiou said she and fellow survivors need protection as well as transparency related to the case.
The survivors are considering compiling their own list of clients. Speaking on Capitol Hill, survivor Lisa Phillips said they know the names of those who were regulars in Epstein’s world. She added that they aren’t sure how or even if they would release the list publicly and called on the Department of Justice to release the names of those involved.
