(New York, NY)  — Cassette tapes are making a comeback.  Taylor Swift’s new album “The Life of a Showgirl” comes out next month and in addition to it being on vinyl, it’ll also be available on cassette which signals cassettes are cool again.  Rob Scheffield of Rolling stone says “cassettes are the most human music format. Part of the reason is you don’t skip around from song to song and you don’t fast forward or rewind.  You’re surrendering to the music as the artist designed it to flow from song to song.”

In 2023, more than 436-thousand were sold in the United States, up from 80-thousand in 2105.  Meantime, one of the most famous scenes featuring a cassette tape was in the movie “Say Anything” when actor John Cusak hoisted a blaring boom box above his head, professing his love.
