(Fort Lauderdale, FL) — Rapper Sean Kingston is heading to federal prison for three-and-a-half years. A Florida federal judge sentenced him August 15, 2025 for his March conviction on federal wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud charges.

His attorney had asked to take the 35-year-old’s charitable heart into consideration and give him house arrest instead. Prosecutors say Kingston used his celebrity status to receive more than a million dollars worth of luxury goods and didn’t pay for them.

Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, and his mother were both found guilty of organized fraud and grand theft charges in May for defrauding businesses of more than one-million-dollars. The rapper best known for his 2007 song “Beautiful girls” and his mother pleaded not guilty to the charges. The rapper’s mother was sentenced to five years in federal prison last month along with three years of probation. They both face similar charges in Broward County court.
