(Anchorage, AK) — President Trump says the summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin has not produced a deal to end the Ukraine war.  He did say the summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin was “productive,” and that some “headway” was made with Russia and the talks will continue.

Trump appeared at a joint news conference with Vladimir Putin when he broke the news. Neither leader took questions from the press. Trump said he will be calling European allies to talk about what was discussed. Putin said “an agreement” was reached, and called the talks “constructive.” It is unclear what “agreement” Putin was referring to.

While peace in Ukraine is being touted as the main objective of the August 15th meeting, the battle over access to Ukraine’s rare-earth minerals will also have far-reaching implications.
