(New York, NY) – Authorities are learning more about the shooter as family and friends continue to mourn the victims in Monday’s deadly shooting in Manhattan. The EPA is planning to cut regulations that date back to the Obama years. And a man facing a slew of charges after a drunk joyride in a NY airport. We have all the stories to know this weekend:

Midtown Shooting Investigation

A team of NYPD investigators are in Las Vegas combing through evidence at the apartment of Shane Tamura. Tamura is the 27-year-old lone wolf shooter who killed four people in a Manhattan office building. The shooter was attempting to target the NFL headquarters but took the wrong elevator. Cops found a goodbye note and medications for epilepsy and depression at Tamura’s residence.

Tariffs Officially Start Next Week

Wall Street closed in the red as the White House stuck to their tariff guns. The trade policy has been central to Trump 2.0 and the putting America first agenda. The rates were originally set to go into effect Friday, August 1st, but that has been postponed until August 7th. The delay allows for any last-minute negotiations for trading partners to strike a deal. The White House has signed off on several deals with the likes of the EU, UK, South Korea and Japan.

EPA Rolling Back Regulations

The Environmental Protection Agency is planning to walk back restrictions on emissions, particularly affecting cars and manufacturing. The agency specifically rescinded the “endangerment finding” from 2009, that linked cars to carbon emissions and pollution. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin says the finding was the basis for many more regulations harming American industries. Environmental groups say they will dispute the changes in court.

MTA Raising Prices After Service Troubles

Following a week of electrical outages impacting train service, the MTA is announcing their plans to raise the prices for a ride across the system. For subway and bus riders, the $2.90 fare will round out to $3 per one-way ride. Those on the commuter rails are seeing their prices rise by about 4% on the Metro-North and Long Island Railroad. MTA Chair Janno Lieber argues the price increases are crucial to make much-needed improvements and upgrades.

Airport Joyride Goes Viral

A man from Wyoming appeared to be having a good time, hijacking an unmanned golf cart inside New York’s Buffalo Niagara International Airport. In a now viral video, you can see 29 year-old Kevin Sinning take the cart for a spin on the moving walkway, where he caused extensive damage. Onlookers and airport workers are heard begging the man to stop. He is now facing charges of criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal nuisance and grand larceny.
