Cop and Civilian Shot in Midtown

(New York, NY) – An investigation is underway after an NYPD officer and as many as three civilians were shot in Midtown, Manhattan, according to police sources. They say the victims were shot with a long gun at East 52nd Street and Park Avenue by a suspect, now identified as 27-year old Shane Tamura of Las Vegas. He fled into an office building causing a lockdown at 345 Park Ave.  Multiple reports now say the officer has died from his injuries.

The shooter committed suicide on the 33rd floor of the office building.

The building at 345 Park Avenue is known for being the headquarters of Bristol-Myers Squibb, Blackstone, the NFL and KPMG LLP.
