There’s also questions if ABC’s The View will return from their summer hiatus. We have the details on Saturday’s top 5 stories:
Gabbard Calls Obama Treasonous
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard says former President Obama strong-armed the intelligence community to create a narrative around the 2016 election that Russia wanted Trump to win. Gabbard released a report disputing previous findings of Russian interference. An Obama spokesperson dismissed the claims as ridiculous. Meanwhile, the DOJ is reviewing the evidence to consider any weaponization of the intelligence community by the Obama White House.
Maxwell Meets with Blanche
A former girlfriend and alleged accomplice to Jeffrey Epstein has met with government officials two days in a row. Ghislaine Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence in Florida for sex trafficking. She was granted temporary immunity during the questioning. Prosecutors stress they want Maxwell to be fully transparent without fear of incrimination. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has not disclosed any information uncovered during the two meetings. Meanwhile, the White House is not ruling out a potential pardon for Maxwell with President Trump pointing out it’s within his powers.

Negotiations End Early in Qatar
The team of mediators sent to the Middle East returned home early with no progress in peace talks. White House envoy Steve Witkoff said this past week that Hamas showed a “lack of desire to reach a ceasefire” warning that the United States is looking at “alternative options” to retrieve hostages being held. Hamas for their part said they were shocked by the “negative statements” from Witkoff. Israel also recalled their negotiators early saying they want to put pressure on Hamas as the region grapples with widespread famine.
Candace Owens Sued by France’s First Couple
Conservative commentator Candace Owens is facing a lawsuit in Delaware over repeated claims that France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron, was born a man. The wife of French President Emmanual Macron has faced scrutiny before over her gender identity. In 2022, Brigitte sued two French women for making similar claims, however the women won their appeal of the case and the lawsuit is now pending in a higher court. Back stateside, Owens says she is unfazed by the legal action and welcomes court proceedings like discovery, which Owens believes will vindicate her claims about Macron.
