(New York, NY) – The former president’s son is not pulling any punches when it comes to where Democrats went wrong in the 2024 election. In his first interview since the November election, Biden sat for a three-hour interview with a Youtuber. He touched on a wide range of topics including his own bouts with addiction and a book from CNN’s Jake Tapper.
The main takeaway from the interview was Biden’s strong words for the Democratic party and some top names involved in the 2024 election. It was not just establishment politicians like former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, but also actor George Clooney came under fire. Hunter Biden let a slew of f-bombs fly as he asked why Clooney would even get involved in the race. Clooney notably penned a New York Times Opinion piece in July titled “I Love Joe Biden. But We Need a New Nominee”.
Hunter Biden also went after the book published by Jake Tapper that claimed Hunter was involved in White House meetings during Biden’s final months in office. Hunter also shared his thoughts on the debate performance which eventually led to Biden dropping from the race. Hunter claims that as bad as the debate was, the campaign could have recovered if the Democratic party united behind the president. Hunter chalked the poor performance up to Ambien that his father was receiving to sleep. Hunter Biden says that his dad was getting older, but was by no means incapacitated.
The interview began with Hunter going deep into his experiences of addiction and his road to recovery. This follows Hunter getting a pardon from his father for his federal tax and firearm convictions. Hunter claimed he was struggling with addictions to both alcohol and crack. Biden even detailed the differences between crack and cocaine, while stressing that the negative impacts of addiction far outweigh any drug-induced moments of euphoria. Hunter also denied rumors that he was responsible for a bag of cocaine found at the White House in 2023. Another big talking point was the infamous laptop left by Hunter at a repair ship in Delaware. Hunter says the headlines on the story were works of fiction to boost media companies’ bottom lines.
The person that interviewed Hunter, Andrew Callaghan is an independent journalist who does man-on-the-street interviews. Some of his recent escapades include the Veterans March on Washington, exploring the Tijuana prisons holding immigration detainees, and the LA ICE riots. He started interviewing people on the streets of New Orleans, in a series called “Quarter Confessions”. He now runs the Channel 5 Youtube channel, boasting over 3 million subscribers.
Now what is next for the former president’s son and why is he making the rounds now, as he also sat down with ex-DNC chair Jamie Harrison. Some are already questioning if Hunter Biden will graduate from son of a politician to a candidate himself. Hunter did take some time in the interview with hypotheticals of what he would do in the Oval Office, particularly around the prison in El Salvador. Biden said if he was in charge, he would threaten military action and even an invasion.
The bold claims have caught the eye of prominent podcaster, Joe Rogan. Rogan on his show this week said Hunter proved himself smarter than his dad, and added that all of Hunter’s skeletons are already out of the closet. Fox News host Jesse Watters also gave Hunter some kudos calling him a “left-wing Trump”. Meanwhile, Hunter has not explicitly ruled out a potential run for office.
