What Is The Summer’s Hottest Movie?

(New York, NY)  —  It’s the summer of Superman!  The first film in James Gunn’s DC Universe earned the third-best opening of the year, with a debut of 122-million-dollars.  Not bad for a super hero in blue tights, red briefs and a cape.  This is also a record for a solo Superman movie.

In addition, the movie is getting really good reviews.  It got a 83-percent fresh from Rotten Tomatoes and a solid score of 68 on Metecritic.  Also, the success of this movie was important for Warner Bros. studio and what had been a floundering DC Universe. Gunn and co-producer Peter Safran were tapped as co-heads of the new DC Studios, with the studio hoping to right the ship.
Greg Kelly talks about the movie….

Gunn wrote on social media that the “film has been a barrage of blessings for me: this one may be the greatest. Ozu has no idea any of this is happening but, if he did, he’d be proud.”  Ozu is Gunn’s ill-behaved rescue dog that the movie’s dog, Krypto, was based on.  Even though Krypto was designed by GCI, the dog steals the show.  According to the dog training app Woofz, searches on Google for “adopt a dog near me” jumped 513-percent after the opening weekend of “Superman,” while the “rescue dog adoption near me” search rose 163-percent.

So what’s up next for Gunn? The movie director started teasing a poster that showed Supergirl that showed her drinking from a tumbler next to the Superman logo, with the words “Look Up.”  The word Up was spray-painted over with the word “Out.”  Gunn tweeted, Look Out. 2026.  The movie is set for release next June.
