(Los Angeles, CA) — Singing icon Neil Diamond made a surprise appearance Saturday at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. The 84-year-old Brooklyn native delivered an impromptu rendition of “Sweet Caroline” at a performance of “A Beautiful Noise.” The musical is based on his life.
Diamond retired from performing seven years ago, after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Theater goers went crazy when Diamond, wearing a dark baseball cap and jackets, stood up and sang his hit song with the cast. Those in the crowd said Diamond looked fit and upbeat.
